This 70-room palace features fine period furniture, textiles, sculpture and architectural elements from the 15th through the early 19th centuries. This gives the impression of a great country estate continuously occupied and redecorated over a period of 400 years. Formerly the winter home of James Deering, co-founder of International Harvester Company, its 1914 construction employed 1,000 artisans and took two years to complete. Today the splendid Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and neoclassical rooms have been restored to their original splendor. The superb formal gardens feature many grottos, pools, fountains, and sculptures. Enjoy a unique glimpse of a vanished lifestyle in America, which included extravagant furnishings, lush gardens and exquisite views. Upon arrival at Villa Vizcaya Museum and Garden, guests will enjoy a 30-minute docent led tour of the Villa, followed by an additional 30 minutes of leisure time. Guests will then be transferred to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Other designs by Phillips include Central Park in New York and Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. Orchids, heliconias, breadfruit, red sesaling wax palms and tree ferns are just some of the Gardens’ luscious plant life. The Hurricane Exhibit intrigues visitors, as they are able to visualize how different plants respond and are recovering from the forces of a hurricane. The Arsht Center, formerly the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts is the second largest theatre in the United States and is truly unique. Opened in October 2006, it is already transforming Miami into one of the great cultural capitals of the Americas. Designed by renowned architect Cesar Pelli of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects to incorporate forms, colors and materials familiar to South Florida and the Americas, Arsht Center is wrapped in large expanses of granite and glass and is already to become an iconic addition to the Miami skyline. The 1929 Art Deco Tower, an architectural landmark which is now part of the Center complex, has been preserved from what used to be one of the first and largest art deco buildings in South Florida. Participants will enjoy a stimulating tour that guides them through the state-of-the-art Arsht Center, view the historical Art Deco Tower, as well as see and learn about the various commissioned original works of art that can be found integrated throughout the Center.
The Freedom Tower was constructed in 1924 and opened the following year. The tower was home to The Miami News until 1957. In the early 60’s the tower was a center for Cuban exiles, where they were processed after fleeing Communist Cuba. The tower has recently been renovated as the new Cuban-exile museum.
Nestled on Biscayne Bay, Coconut Grove is a quaint historic village just south of the downtown area, loved by tourists and residents alike. The tour will take your guests to the Barnacle house (home of Commodore Monroe), Plymouth Church, Admirals Row, and the Gables.
